Similar to Inspection for Export Requirements, in India there are a lot of regulatory compliances need to be fulfilled by Importers when Companies import Machinery or other Items from other countries.
There are various needs that requires Inspection for Customs Department – for ex if the Goods have need imported via Duty Drawback Scheme of EPCG Subsidy then the items need to be inspected for installation and usage as per the original approval. Every 2nd Hand machinery inspected into India goes through Inspection and Valuation Process by a Chartered Engineer. Similarly when a Importer is applying for manufacturing Process Certification or Fixing Input/Output Norms then the process needs to be inspected and verified if its matching with the claims by the importer/exporter of goods.
